As per PMI's Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR), PMPs must accrue a minimum of 60 Professional Development Units (PDUs) during each three year CCR cycle and comply with PMI's renewal requirements (including payment of a fee) to maintain their certification status. If you fail to get your 60 PDUs within the 3 year cycle , PMP certification status becomes "Suspended" for up to 1 year, within which you must meet recertification requirements
